Caramel, also known as Blonde, is a recessive trait. Although it is a darkened form of Albino, it is incompatible with the the other albino lines. It is also unique in that the hatchlings come out of the eggs bright white with blazing red eyes, and then darken as time goes by- making it the only ontogenetic color changing Retic mutation. We have recently found that temperature hastens this process, and have been able to provide customers with infomation that gives them fully darkened Caramels at just months old, rather than years. Still very rare in breeding collections, this gene has almost limitless potential for new, never before seen Retculated python combos that change color before your eyes.
